Handcrafted in Denver since 1991. Ridden by our own founder since 2009 β 17 years and counting, including the time he bought the company's founder a beer.
Check Current Price on AmazonNever Summer states plainly: "Each board is carefully handcrafted in our Denver, Colorado factory to precision tolerances." Family owned and operated since 1991 by Tim and Tracey Canaday, involved in every part of the business β design, materials sourcing, testing. The company holds the first patent on hybrid camber technology.
This is the brand behind our own founder's board β a Legacy ridden since 2009, 17 years and still in daily rotation. A full video breaking down nearly two decades of real use is planned, but the short version is below, in his own words β including the time he bought the company's founder a beer without knowing who he was.
"Oh my gosh, dude β I've had it for probably over 15 years. I've ridden it all around the country: several mountains through Colorado, Washington State, Oregon, North Carolina.
I met the owner when I first got it, maybe within weeks. I was living in Beaver Creek, Colorado, riding it, and I got to the bottom of the lift outside the lodge. This guy came down around the same time, and I looked at his board β it said Never Summer, but I didn't recognize the model. I had scoured and looked at every single model before I bought mine, the Legacy.
I said, 'Hey man, what model is that? I've never seen that before.' He said, 'Yeah, you wouldn't have β it's not out. It's a prototype.' I said, 'How'd you get that?' He said, 'Well, I'm the founder.'
I couldn't believe it. I told him how much I loved the Legacy β that I'd never had a board cut through both powder and ice like that, because of the camber system. I asked if I could buy him a beer. He said absolutely, and we talked for half an hour about snowboarding. He probably doesn't remember it, but it was pretty awesome. Super down-to-earth, salt-of-the-earth guy."
Never Summer Industries states on its own site: "Each board is carefully handcrafted in our Denver, Colorado factory to precision tolerances." Read the source on neversummer.com β Retrieved 2026-09-24. Company also states: "Made in Colorado" is a site-wide claim, not scoped to one model β every current Never Summer board is built at the same Denver factory per company materials.
If you're buying one board to actually keep β not swap out every season β this is a company whose founders are still hands-on in materials sourcing and testing, not a private-label board slapped with a logo.
It's not the cheapest board on the shelf. Ours has been ridden since 2009 β 17 years β and is still in rotation. That's the actual cost-per-season math worth doing.
Core materials include Paulownia, Poplar, and Beech in high-stress areas, with UHMW base/sidewalls (P-Tex) β worth knowing before comparing spec sheets against other brands.
Never Summer also runs its own direct affiliate program separate from Amazon β on a board this price, it's likely better economics than the standard Amazon cut. Worth applying for directly (303-320-1813 or info@neversummer.com) alongside this listing.
