His 16' FatMax is marked "Made in USA" right on the case — not just the packaging.
"MADE IN USA WITH GLOBAL MATERIALS" is printed right on the case itself, next to the American flag — not a sticker buried on the packaging that gets tossed after unboxing.
This is our founder's own 16' FatMax Classic, the one he actually reaches for on set and on the job. The 25' model linked here is the same line, same BladeArmor coating, same standard.
Stanley's own FatMax case is printed "FATMAX TAPE MEASURE MADE IN USA WITH GLOBAL MATERIALS" alongside the American flag, visible directly on the tool in the gallery above. Our founder's own 16' model carries that exact marking — not a claim read off a box.
It's right there in the name — FatMax. Our founder's got big, thick hands, and he loves the way this one fills his palm. That's not for everybody: if you want something slim you can slide in a pocket, this isn't it. It's beefy, on purpose.
The rubber around the edges does double duty — easy to grip, and it keeps the case from sliding if you've got it set down on a slanted surface. For wood projects in the garage, the 16' he actually owns covers almost everything. Out in the field or on a job site, the 25' linked here is the better call.
Owned and used by our own founder, alongside the Leatherman Wave Plus pictured beside it above — both live in the same work bag.

View on Amazon →Our founder's own tape is the 16' model — that exact size isn't sold on Amazon, so the linked listing is the 25' FatMax in the same line, same coating, same "Made in USA" marking on the case. Let the hook ride loose; it's designed with a small amount of play to true up inside vs. outside measurements.
The lock button is plastic — it's held up fine after several months of regular use, but it's the one part our founder wishes was metal instead.
